Zvia Green (b. 1997, Israel)
Zvia works across textiles and painting, allowing the two disciplines to influence and inform one another. Her practice includes Jacquard-woven wall hangings and works in oil paint, oil pastel, and soft pastel. She explores the tension between the structured, process-driven nature of weaving and the immediacy and fluidity of painting, using each as a way to challenge and expand the other.
Central to her work are themes of home, family, and personal history. She draws inspiration from people, places, objects, and everyday narratives, particularly the home of her Nona and her Portuguese roots, which serve as both a landscape of inspiration and a point of departure. Through layered color, texture, and detail, she creates works that hold space for memory and storytelling, transforming intimate moments into tangible visual forms.
