Four new limited edition prints, based on seminal works by Lucian Freud, chart the dramatic evolution of his portraits.
Girl with a Kitten, 1947 and Girl with Roses, 1947-48 are two early masterpieces by the renowned British artist. Both paintings depict the painter's first wife and fellow artist Kathleen 'Kitty' Garman, revealing the psychological intensity of his close, observational approach.
Reflection (Self-portrait) 1983-85 and Double Portrait, 1985-86 were painted in Lucian’s later career, defined by his signature use of thick oil impasto. Both portraits take an unflinching look at the human condition, from existential introspection to the intimacy in human-animal bonds.
