Tana Gaxiola (Sinaloa, Mexico, 1979) is a Mexican visual artist whose practice is deeply inspired by nature, movement, and the energetic rhythms that connect all living things. Her work seeks to capture the flow of life through painting, transforming it into immersive visual environments filled with vibration, dynamism, and positive energy.
Gaxiola’s paintings are characterized by gestural brushstrokes, rich textures, saturated forms, and a bold, joyful use of color. These elements often extend beyond their boundaries, creating a sense of motion and visual resonance. Painting serves as her primary space for exploration, release, and continuous self-discovery.
She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid (2000–2005), specializing in pictorial processes and techniques. Since relocating to Guadalajara, Mexico in 2005, she has developed the majority of her work on both canvas and large-scale murals.
Throughout her career, Gaxiola has collaborated with a wide range of brands and designers, including Starbucks, AstraZeneca, C&A, Clōe, Topo Chico, Tequila Don Julio, and Erick Millán Design. Her work has been exhibited and collected internationally, with private collections in Mexico, the United States, Spain, Switzerland, and the Netherlands.
