Rachel Weinstock’s practice explores the afterlife of celebration
through painting and s culpture. Working with images and
materials ass ociated with parties, cakes, decorations,
dispos able tableware, ribbons, and other remnants —she
examines how objects intended for brief moments of joy outlive
the events they once served. Repetition, accumulation, and
pres ervation transform familiar symbols into cultural artifacts,
while dis c arded materials embedded in resin become
permanent records of fleeting experiences. Moving between
image, object , and archive, her work considers how collective
rituals leave behind material and emotional traces, asking what
persists after celebration has ended and how everyday objects
come to c memory long after their original purpose has
disappeared.
